VOICETHREAD
Voicethread is a collaborative online tool that enable you to make slideshows (can be kept private or made public) and then invite comments in text, sound or video from collaborators.

Comments can be made using a microphone or by typing (click the 'A').
for school use I click the 'private' button when the 'share' options come up, so that only my class and I can see it, or someone we have 'invited' using their email address (which is how we share with our partner school.
I set up a school account (start by signing up for a free account with your own school email address, then click on 'upgrade to pro' and scroll down to the bottom of the page where it says something about click here for K12 which is US of A speak for schools. They send your school a confirmation email to prove you are a school, you click on the link in it - and you now have a free educator account.
Now you can 'add identities' for each of your children and you do not need individual details or emails to do this. We use made up names, but you could just use first names and a picture icon of their choice. Once you have done this once the children can use the same ones again and again and they don't need to be entered in each time.
